Job Purpose


To assist in the day-to-day operations of a busy jet engine workshop and provide a proactive and efficient service. The role requires a flexible approach and the ability to multitask is essential.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:



Assist in the day-to-day workshop activities and general site activities as directed by the Workshop Management. Assist in the movement of aircraft engines, engine parts and engine tooling as required. Assist in the unloading and loading of engines plus moving engines around the site as required. Assist in the close up and dispatch of engines as directed by the Workshop Manager. Assist in the control and disposal of waste products in line with company and environmental regulations. Keep a clean and tidy working environment in the workshop while optimising space utilisation. Perform some site cleaning tasks when required ensuring work and storage areas are clean and well maintained at all times. Ensure the best level of service is offered and maintained for both internal and external customers. General upkeep of all company vehicles and equipment. Driving of company vehicles (ie: company forklifts, towing equipment and road vehicles). Assist the stores department during peak times or to cover holidays and/or sickness (training will be given). Any other reasonable duties as instructed by the senior management team.

Skills & Experience:



Computer literate (where needed training will be given on the company computer system). Excellent organisational and communication skills. Must be flexible and willing to move between all work areas within GT Engine Services as required. Must be a team player. Previous experience of working in a busy workshop environment is desirable, aviation experience a big plus. Must be able to identify problems, undertake corrective actions or propose alternative solutions. Full UK Driving Licence is essential. Forklift Licence an advantage (where needed training will be given).

Pay: From 26,547.00 per year
