We are looking for an experienced and motivated
Workshop Manager
to join our successful team. The purpose of this role is to provide an effective, efficient, managed planned maintenance across all service contracts and offer technical advice on the shop floor where necessary
Role & Responsibilities
Supervision of the workshop Technicians responsible for service and repair of LGV's
Management and co-ordination, supporting employees to ensure effective workflow of repairs to meet customer service/cost/quality targets
You will have accountability for meeting and improving on customer satisfaction targets.
Monitor the status of budget spending/activity and report weekly/monthly.
Organise work according to skill set and be able to offer technical advice on the shopfloor when necessary.
To be responsible for control of overtime requirements to ensure deadlines are met.
Maintenance of facilities and equipment
Ensure compliance with Company policies including Health and Safety
Manage and control stock to company standards.
Support new employees through induction and monitor progress.
Develop a culture where staff are committed to quality and high standards.
Identify and address staff training requirements.
Ensure that all staff understand and comply with company policies and procedures.
Ensure that work areas are kept clean and maintained to a high standard to ensure safety for both staff and visitors.
Maintain records as required by the Company, legislation and best practice.
Person Specification
Should be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of modern mechanical servicing and repairs.
Be familiar with operation and maintenance of diagnostic equipment.
The ability to prioritise workload and work in a systematic and organised manner to ensure that repairs are completed within target times.
Good communication and people skills.
Be able to problem solve and deal with situations which arise during the repair process.
Basic H&S Knowledge and practices.
Previous experience of completing service and repair documentation/portal records to meet required standards.
Not to be afraid of having to roll your sleeves up and lead by example.
The following would be considered advantageous
LGV Category C+E driving license
Knowledge of ALL trucks and trailer Brands
