Workshop Operatives; Concrete products yardsman / forklift driver / PT Class 2 driver

Concrete products yardsman

Role mainly entails working with another yardsman using team lifting / manual handling of smaller precast products and loading waggons using forklifts (3T to 7T). General labouring and housekeeping also involved. In house training on handling methods will be provided.

Part Time class 2 delivery driver / yardsman.

Delivery of precast to sites across Scotland (mainly central Scotland and Lowlands) and Northen England (mainly Northmubria, Cumbria). Driving DAF 6x2 CF330 rigid, daily return to base. Rate open to negotiation for right candidate. Would suit fit and able older driver who wants to return home to Kelso each day. Working with yardsman on days without deliveries. One position available, ability to drive our waggon is not essential but beneficial
Role would suit someone with previous experience of yardwork and manual handling training. CSCS card and forklift certification would be beneficial. Reading and understanding of technical drawings and picking schedules. Basic numeric skills essential.

Full on the job training by colleagues will be provided. Plant certs for forklift driving would advantageous, training can be provided.

Enthusiasm, willingness to learn new skills, organised, conscientious, punctuality and reliability alongside being able to work as part of a small team are musts for this job.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, immediate start

Wage: 12.50 per hour basic rate, dependant on age, OT x1.5. Accrual to variable full bonus over 12 months, rates TBA. Regular Working Hours: 07:00 to 15:15 Mon to Fri, OT as required.
