Oversee the day-to-day maintenance, servicing and repair of our fleet of refrigerated vehicles.
Supervise and support a small team of mechanics, while also carrying out mechanical duties yourself.
Support the development of the Mechanical Apprenticeship Programme.
Present vehicles for annual MOT Inspection
Ensure a high standard to H&S are being followed and correct practices are being followed at all times
Cover workshop managers duties during absences
Out of hours support - Fully equipped van is supplied
.Principal Accountabilities
To assist in minimising off-road time for all vehicles and compliance to O-Licence regulations.
To notify the office of vehicle damage.
To handle and process customer defects and breakdowns
To ensure that all service and inspection documentation is correctly completed
To work within and implement a policy of "Preventative Maintenance"
Procurement of parts
Production and updating of workshop and VOR reports on a daily basis
Ad-Hoc duties as required
To help control the maintenance spend
Delegate work to the technicians including Mobile techs when required
Core Areas of Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
City & Guilds level 3 equivalent in HGV repairs & maintenance
Strong knowledge of the "Guide to maintaining roadworthiness"
Effective verbal and written skills, coupled with strong decision making and problem solving.
HGV C E Licence
Full UK driving licence
Understanding of vehicle compliance
Proof of your right to work in UK
Desirable
IRETEC
Knowledge of transportation and logistics industry
Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft office
