Workshop Supervisor

Job Description

The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing all workshop operations. This role ensures the efficient, safe, and high-quality construction of products, managing resources, staff, and workflows to meet production targets and deadlines. The manager plays a key role in coordinating between departments, maintaining equipment, enforcing health and safety standards, and driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead workshop teams to build products accurately, ensuring zero defects/rework and training staff on documentation interpretation
  • Plan/schedule production workflows with cross-department coordination to guarantee on-time project delivery and deadline adherence
  • Optimise operational efficiency by monitoring build times, driving continuous improvement in processes, and reducing costs through waste elimination
  • Manage end-to-end logistics including materials receipt, inventory control, and error-free dispatch operations to prevent delays
  • Lead HR functions by recruiting, developing, and motivating staff; resolving HR issues; and ensuring policy/legal compliance
  • Control budgets/resources through cost-effective supplier negotiations, stock/WIP reporting, and managing staffing/materials/equipment expenditures
About You
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
  • Advanced production planning and workflow coordination
  • Proven ability in process improvement and operational efficiency
  • Strong logistics and inventory management skills
  • Effective human resources management and staff development
  • Solid budgeting, resource management, and supplier negotiation skills
Essential
Either
  • Diploma in Business Management or equivalent OR demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams
  • Customer relationship management experience
Desirable
  • Certificate III Engineering (Fabrication)
  • Certificate IV Frontline Management
