Job Summary



We are seeking a skilled Workshop-based LV/HV Fitter to join our manufacturing division. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing and testing low voltage distribution cabinets in a workshop environment. This includes assembling electrical components, manufacturing copper busbar, wiring systems, and conducting functional tests to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards. The ideal candidate should have experience in panel building, electrical wiring, and have a strong understanding of low/high voltage distribution systems. Attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to safety standards are essential for this role.

The role would also include the assembly of HV switchboards (Schneider Ringmaster/Genie etc) to specification. Previous experience is a bonus,

not

a requirement.

Responsibilities



Construct and assemble low voltage distribution cabinets based on engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications. This would include manufacturing busbar, mounting protective devices & any other ancillary equipment (Meters/CT's etc) HV Switchboard Assembly: A mixture of close coupling HV switchgear to our high voltage transformers or coupling extensible switchgear together using manufacturer supplied busbar/wiring. Conduct functional tests and inspections of the equipment to ensure proper operation, compliance with specifications, and adherence to safety standards. Troubleshoot and rectify any electrical or wiring issues that may arise during testing. Maintain accurate records and documentation of cabinet assembly, wiring diagrams, test reports, and any modifications made during the build process. Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure the equipment is built to meet required standards, codes, and customer specifications. Adhere to all safety guidelines, electrical codes, and regulatory requirements while working with electrical equipment and managing live circuits. Collaborate with other team members to clarify technical specifications, resolve issues, and ensure smooth build and delivery process. Assist with the maintenance, repair, and modification of existing equipment as required. Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment, ensuring tools and equipment are safely stored and maintained.

Experience / Qualifications



High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or vocational training in electrical or panel building is preferred. Proven experience as an LV/HV Fitter or similar role, with a strong understanding of low & high voltage distribution systems. Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Knowledge of low & high voltage distribution components and systems. Skilled in switchgear assembly, wiring, and termination techniques. Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and troubleshooting techniques. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality control. Excellent manual dexterity and ability to use hand tools and power tools safely. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Effective communication skills and the ability to follow instructions. Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.

8hr shift/40hrs per week Monday-Friday Weekend availability Overtime available

Pay: 13.36-16.53 per hour
