We're looking for a Harvesting & Marketing Supervisor to join our Land Management team in the South Region, based out of our Selkirk office. This is a full-time, permanent role working at the heart of Scotland's public forestry operations.

The South Region stretches from coast to coast across southern Scotland and manages a diverse forest estate, from high-volume commercial plantations to nationally important conservation sites and well-used recreational forests. Our operational teams play a crucial role in delivering over one million cubic metres of timber to market each year, supporting woodland creation, restocking programmes, environmental enhancements, and high-quality visitor facilities.

As a Harvesting & Marketing Supervisor, you will play a vital frontline role supporting the safe, efficient, and sustainable delivery of harvesting operations. Working alongside the Harvesting & Marketing Forester, you'll supervise mechanical harvesting sites, oversee timber marketing activities, and help maintain strong, positive relationships with contractors, customers, and colleagues. You will also contribute to planning and preparing harvesting areas, carry out site surveys, maintain accurate records, and promote high standards of health, safety, and environmental stewardship.

To be successful, you'll need a good understanding of contract management in a land management, forestry, or environmental setting, alongside familiarity with health and safety systems and forest or land management planning. You should be able to work well with a range of stakeholders, communicate clearly, and make informed, practical decisions in the field.

Desirable experience includes knowledge of modern harvesting techniques, experience using GIS platforms, and an understanding of roadside timber stock management.

You'll need a full UK driving licence (or suitable alternative), and the role involves regular travel throughout the region, with occasional overnight stays when required.
