Job Description

Sports Masters Coaching isn't all about sport. We also have Ofsted registered Wraparound care settings at a number of the schools we work in. As we expand this branch of the business, we are looking for enthusiastic play workers, with a keen interest in childcare to join our Wraparound care team.

Purpose of the Job



To assist the Site Manager in providing a caring, secure, and fun environment through individual attention and group activities. The Playworker will organise an appropriate range of play opportunities for children between the ages of 4 - 11 years.

Key Responsibilities



Programme Management:

Organise and supervise a programme of play activities for Breakfast Club and/or After School Club. Collaborate with children to prepare activities, organise programmes/themes, and arrange equipment.

Safety and Risk Management:

Work safely and encourage positive and measured risk-taking among children. Show an awareness of health and safety regulations and guidelines.

Play Opportunities:

Provide a safe, stimulating, creative, and inspiring play environment for a range of age groups. Ensure that all activities are inclusive for all children to participate in.

Parent and Child Engagement:

Develop and maintain good relationships and communication with parents/carers to facilitate day-to-day caring needs. Consult with children and involve them in the planning of activities.

Requirements



Experience:

At least 1 year of experience in childcare (required). Experience in a nursery setting (preferred).

Education:

GCSE or equivalent (preferred).

Certifications:

Paediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to complete training upon successful application).

Additional Requirements:

Successful completion of a 3-month probationary period. Satisfactory professional references. Enhanced DBS clearance.

Schedule



Working Hours:

Part-time, Permanent . Expected hours: No more than 15 per week. We can work with your schedule Day shift: Monday to Friday. No weekends.

In person, Cheddar Valley (Somerset) or Churchill (North Somerset)

Commute/Relocation:

Must reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred).
