Wrexham AFC are seeking an experienced and committed Safeguarding Lead to act as the Designated Safeguarding Officer for our Women's & Girl's Academy. This role is responsible for implementing and promoting safeguarding policies, managing safeguarding concerns, and ensuring a safe environment for children, young people and adults at risk in line with EFL standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a visible point of contact for all safeguarding issues within the Academy Manage and assess safeguarding concerns, including risk assessments and referrals to statutory bodies Deliver safeguarding training to staff and support the embedding of policy and best practice Maintain accurate, confidential records using MyConcern Collaborate with the Head of Safeguarding and contribute to Club-wide safeguarding initiatives
Essential Requirements:
Significant safeguarding experience in a professional, welfare, or elite sport setting Ability to manage complex safeguarding cases and make defensible decisions Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills Flexible to travel and work evenings/weekends as required Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
Welsh language skills are desirable.
