Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yardman to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our yard and workshop facilities. This position involves various tasks, including driving, heavy lifting, and maintaining a clean and organised work environment. The Yardman will be responsible for supporting the logistics of our operations while ensuring safety and compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

Operate company vehicles for transporting materials and equipment within the yard and to designated locations. Assist with loading and unloading deliveries, ensuring accurate handling of goods. Perform heavy lifting tasks as required to move items safely and efficiently. Maintain an organised yard by keeping areas tidy and free from hazards. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth operations. Support workshop activities such as painting, cutting materials and inventory management. Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while on duty.

Requirements

Clean valid driving licence with experience in commercial driving. Valid forklift licence necessary. Previous experience in a workshop environment is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly throughout the shift. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members. A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining an organised workspace. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in various weather conditions. Reliability and punctuality: Being on time and dependable is crucial for daily operations. Strong work ethic: A proactive and hard-working attitude is often requested. CSCS card would be advantageous .

Pay: From 12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
