Position:

Yard Operative

Job Summary:

The Yard Operative is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and distribution of materials within the facility. This role encompasses a broad range of duties, including forklift operation (B1 & B2), local supplier collections, inventory management and yard maintenance. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate B1 (Counterbalance) and B2 (Reach) forklifts safely and efficiently, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures. Load, unload, move stack materials and cabins using forklifts and other material handling equipment. Ensure proper storage of materials to prevent damage and maintain organized inventory. Organise and maintain the yard area, ensuring a clean and safe working environment. Receive and inspect incoming materials, verifying quantities and condition. Accurately label and store materials in designated locations. Assist with waste disposal and recycling activities. Perform general maintenance tasks, such as sweeping, cleaning, and organising storage areas. Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety concerns to management. Drive company vehicles to collect materials from local suppliers as required. Communicate effectively with other team members and departments.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (minimum 2 years' experience). Proven experience in material handling and yard operations. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

Valid B1 and B2 forklift licenses/certifications. Experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Saw experience

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects. Ability to work in various weather conditions.

?Working Hours: 7am - 4.30pm; Mon - Thu & 7am - 1.30pm Fri

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 14.00-15.00 per hour
