Job Description
We're looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join our clients expanding team and help maintain the smooth operation of their yard facilities. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who is confident and licenced to drive a Counterbalance Truck, enjoys working outdoors, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in keeping things organised and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently using appropriate equipment (e.g. forklift, pallet truck)
Organise and maintain yard stock, ensuring materials are stored correctly
Assist with deliveries and collections, including checking and recording incoming goods
Keep the yard clean, tidy, and free from hazards at all times
Operate machinery and tools in accordance with safety guidelines
Support other departments with general labouring duties when required
Report any defects, damages, or safety concerns to the Yard Manager
Requirements
Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or logistics environment preferred
Forklift licence (counterbalance or reach) desirable but not essential
Good physical fitness and ability to lift heavy items
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to health and safety standards
