Description





As a Yard Operative, you will have ultimate responsibility for everything that moves within your yard and stores. The role is to ensure efficiency and smooth running in the depot which in turns gives efficiency and compliance on sites whilst maintaining the company procedures and policies.

Key Responsibilities





Good computer skills to allow you to utilise the sign making software for the production of Specific road signs. Ensure that all planned work jobs have their required equipment prepicked in advance of the works, and report any shortfalls. Capable of putting operatives to work in the depot when they have dead time through the day. Monitor Battery Charging, Monitor battery quantities, and record and report to their manager. Carry out weekly stock checks to ensure that kit levels are kept on top of. Report shortages of equipment as and when needed. Monitor PPE levels, Issue PPE and record and report to their manager. Ensure that all plant and equipment is in full working order, where necessary to carry out minor maintenance of this equipment Ensure a safe working environment; walking the depot regularly to check all areas are safe and free of any potential hazards. Ensure that the yard / stores areas are kept clean and tidy at all times. Keep security of the yard / stores to the highest level, ensuring Secured areas are monitored daily. Ensure that space in the yards / stores areas are optimized Must be able to follow company Policies and Procedures.

Experience and Qualifications





Excellent organisational skills Telehandler licence (Preferable) Basic Handyman Skills Computer literate Good communication Basic computer knowledge
