Yard Operative




Working as part of the site production team you will be focusing on delivering and leading exceptional, SHE standards and meeting financial and operational targets, the

Yard Operative

is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mobile and fixed plant ensuring daily tasks are completed including general site housekeeping and basic maintenance. Loading / unloading palletized, unpalletized product onto our customer vehicles.

Responsibilities



Contractors and haulier engagement Ensure safe load optimisation. Prioritising planned works. Ensuring that Health & Safety rules are adhered to and deliver safety/operational performance targets, supporting a culture of health and safety best practice by setting a personal example. Comply with all Tarmac/CRH Policies & Procedures. Supporting continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environmental performance standards. Supporting continuous improvement of process, plant and production. Effective completion of operator preventative maintenance tasks Balancing the time covering operation and house keeping Ensuring mobile plant cleanliness standards. Ensuring daily compliance checks and standards. Building working relationships with other production and maintenance personnel. Ensure products of high quality are efficiently produced. Ensure that Site Inspections are completed and recorded. Ensure you read, understand and sign method statements and risk assessments for all activities. Attend and actively participate in Daily Briefings and Weekly Safety Briefings. Actively look to identify SHE improvement opportunities Comply with planning and other operating restrictions i.e. site boundaries, noise, dust, hours etc Ensure Daily KPIs are recorded accurately and work with the team to meet agreed KPI's Identify and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement In addition to reviewing implementing any appropriate Best Practice Effectively control daily operations of the plant in line with the operating SOP's Work closely with maintenance team/contractors to co-ordinate maintenance activities during a normal day and during shutdowns Liaise with supervisor regarding delivery and quality issues to help them manage complaints system. Ensure the quality of the products manufactured & delivered to site. Ensure full communication to all parties in relation to plant breakdown Actively participate in Root Cause Analysis when required in respect of Quality, Safety and Mechanical issues. Ensure timely recording daily input of stock handling in support of all month end data

Should have (or have a willingness to develop

)



Knowledge:



Manufacturing process experience Heavy plant and equipment experience PC literate including Microsoft excel, word and power point. Familiar with ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, 50001 standards.

Skills:



Good oral and written English Basic mathematical skills. B1 / B2 FLT licence required
