Job Description

This position for our Breckan Depot, Finstown, Orkney requires a hardworking, physically fit individual who has a pleasant manner for dealing with customers and colleagues and has the ability to become part of a team dedicated to providing an efficient service.

Although this post is ideally full-time at 42.5 hours per week we are willing to consider part-time applicants from 25.5 hours + per week.

Hours of work for full-time 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, part-time to be negotiated. We also open on a Saturday from 8.00am to 12.30pm and there would be a requirement to work every second Saturday with time off in lieu.

Main Duties include but are not restricted to:

- Load and unload materials from vehicles in a safe and efficient manner following company procedures.

- Deal with associated paperwork accurately.

- Assist customers with their requirements in the yard.

- Maintain stock levels in a logical manner and keep work area clean and tidy.

- Operate forklifts and other equipment to move materials within the yard.

- Driving of lorry to deliver materials to customers throughout Orkney.

Requirements:

- Strong ability to load and unload materials safely and efficiently.

- Experience working in a warehouse or yard environment.

- Physically fit.

- Proficiency in operating a counterbalance forklift.

- Full UK driving licence which includes C1 and preferrably CPC qualified.

- Experience in building & agricultural sectors would be an advantage although not essential.
