Overview

This position requires strong leadership skills to manage a team effectively while maintaining high standards of quality & compliance. The Yard Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating activities within the yard, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and optimising workflow.

The role will be 45 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday 5pm-2am. Please note hours may slightly alter due to rota requirements.

Duties

Supervise daily yard operations, ensuring efficient materials handling and movement. Manage a team of yard personnel, providing guidance and support to enhance performance. Ensure compliance and quality checks are completed. Audit and quality check temperature logs of all trailers. Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities, addressing any mechanical issues promptly. Facilitate training sessions for staff. Maintain accurate records Assist in heavy lifting tasks as required to ensure smooth operations.

Skills

Previous shunting experience is required. Experience of managing a team will be viewed as an advantage. Strong knowledge of temperature quality controls. Excellent organisation and communication skills.
