Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Yard Supervisor to oversee the daily operations within our yard. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team, ensuring efficient materials handling, and maintaining a safe working environment. This role requires strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of warehouse management processes.
Duties
Supervise and coordinate the activities of yard personnel to ensure smooth operations. Oversee forklift duties. Driving forklift. Conduct regular inspections of equipment and yard conditions to ensure safety standards are met. Provide training and support to team members on best practices in warehouse operations. Collaborate with other departments to optimise business processes and improve overall productivity.
Qualifications
Proven experience in team management within a yard or similar environment. Strong knowledge of logistics receiving processes. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physical demands of the role. Mechanical knowledge is beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues. Experience operating forklifts is preferred; relevant certifications are a plus. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: 29,000.00-32,000.00 per year
