Due to ongoing operational requirements, we are now looking to recruit a Yard Supervisor to oversee yard operations at our Mill Place depot.

The Role
The Yard Supervisor will be responsible for the day to day management of the yard, ensuring traffic management equipment is maintained, organised, and available to meet operational demands. This is a hands on supervisory role, requiring strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to health and safety.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily yard operations, ensuring effective allocation of resources and workloads
Ensure equipment is prepared, loaded, and returned efficiently for daily works
Maintain accurate stock control of signs, cones, barriers, and associated equipment
Manage yard housekeeping, ensuring a safe, tidy, and well organised working environment
Lead by example in promoting and enforcing health, safety, and compliance standards
Ensure all activities are carried out in line with company policies, procedures, and risk assessments
Liaise with operational teams to support service delivery and customer requirements
Report defects, incidents, and maintenance issues as required

Key Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous experience in a yard, logistics, or traffic management environment
Supervisory or team-leading experience (desirable)
A full, current driving licence
A strong understanding of health and safety requirements
A reliable, proactive, and organised approach to work
The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Good communication skills and a professional manner
Flexibility to work overtime as required to meet operational and customer demands is essential.
