Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Yard Worker to join our team. We have 2 available locations as our company is growing rapidly.

1 location is around the Heathrow area and the other is in Thame near Aylesbury

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our operations by ensuring that materials are handled properly and that the yard is kept organised. This position requires a proactive individual who is comfortable with heavy lifting and has a good understanding of warehouse processes.

Responsibilities

Operate forklifts and other machinery safely to load and unload materials. Manage the shipping and receiving of goods, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory control. Handle materials with care, following all safety protocols to prevent accidents or damage. Maintain an organised yard by arranging materials in designated areas and keeping pathways clear. Assist in the implementation of yard management systems to streamline operations. Perform regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues. Collaborate with team members to support construction projects as needed, contributing to overall project success. Engage in heavy lifting tasks, ensuring that all materials are moved safely and efficiently.

Requirements

Previous yard experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of materials handling processes. Proficiency in operating forklifts; certification is a plus. Familiarity with warehouse management systems to aid in inventory tracking and organisation. Mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Experience in construction environments is advantageous but not mandatory. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks (up to 25 kg) consistently throughout the shift. Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of work performed. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective teamwork and reporting.
