Our customers include civil engineering and construction contractors, asset owners, and consulting engineering firms through to small builders.

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Yard/workshop Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our operations by ensuring that materials are handled correctly and safely within the yard/ workshop. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Daily equipment safety checks To check, clean and fettle all returned hire fleet from site Picking and assembling equipment from picking lists ready for hire. Handle materials with care, adhering to safety protocols during loading and unloading processes. Assist in heavy lifting and moving of items as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard area, ensuring that all tools and equipment are stored properly. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and communication throughout daily operations. Yard/ workshop housekeeping Testing hydraulic equipment Completion of all paperwork to return to hire desk. Painting equipment. Washing returned equipment.

Experience

Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable, particularly in a yard or logistics environment. Familiarity with warehouse management systems is an advantage. Experience in materials handling and mechanical knowledge will be beneficial. Background in construction or related fields is preferred but not essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate machinery safely is required. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.50-12.88 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
