We are delighted that you are interested in joining our dedicated team at CSSL. We registered as a charity in 1993, and at that time provided a support group and supported 15 unpaid Carers. Today, 30 years on, we have evolved and now offer a range of services to support around 1700 unpaid Carers of all ages, from 5 to 100, throughout the South Lakes. The youngest Carer we support has just turned 5, and the oldest is currently 98. We are proud of the many achievements we have made since registering as a charity in 1993, and due to the dedication and hard work of our Trustees, staff, local supporters and many Volunteers. Our continued success depends on the contribution and expertise of every individual we employ and work with. We welcome and thank you for your application.

POST:

Young Carers Activity Coordinator

REPORTS TO:

Young Carers' Lead Practitioner

GRADE & SALARY:

14,206.80 (23,678 FTE pro rata)

HOURS:

21 hours per week (Weds/Thurs/Fri)

Negotiable for the right candidate

LOCATION:

South Lakeland- Kendal- Office based

CONTRACT

: Fixed term- 12 months

PURPOSE AND KEY OBJECTIVES

Provide respite opportunities and breaks for Young Carers

- The administration, planning and evaluation of all trips, community projects, social clubs and our Youth Involvement Panel

- Liaise with Support practitioners to appropriately information share

- Working within the identified budget considering financial constraints

- Leading on the delivery of trips and activities (please note this could be after 5pm or weekends)

- Contribute to the development and ongoing work of Carer Support South Lakes.

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES



Planning coordinating and running the trips, social club and activities for the academic year

Ensuring risk assessments are under taken in line with current policy

Being the point of contact for parents in regards to trips

Managing emails and invite letters

Liaising with local transport organisations

Ensuring effective first aid is in place

Being the first point of contact for other professionals and social clubs in regards to activity planning

Being aware of and adhering to policies and procedures, especially safeguarding, health and safety, equality and diversity and data protection.

Keeping coherent records of all activity in-line with service protocols and use these records and outcome data to inform decision making. Complete all requirements relating to data collection.

Evaluation of the trips and activities with feedback sought from Young Carers

The meeting minutes, agenda and management of the panel in line with best practice and our national counterparts guidance.

- Attend regular supervisions, staff and team meetings as requested.

- Contribute to research and reports.
