Have you got what it takes to provide support to children and young people who have caring responsibilities?
A sound knowledge of working with children and young people.
An understanding of the role that a Young Carer/Young Adult Carer has and how this can impact their life.
The skills for a demanding, yet very rewarding job delivering one to one support.
The skills to help deliver group sessions.
The flexibility to work after school hours into the early evening, occasional weekend work and residentials.
Access to own car
Minimum 18hours per week with the possibility of u to 30 hours.

:
1.
To report to the Young Carers Manager in the provision of services for Young Carers & Young Adult Carers.
2.
To offer information, advice and support services to Young Carers, their families and professionals as appropriate and to publicise and promote Young Carers activities.
3.
To work with Young Carers and Young Adult Carers individually and in groups. Provide advocacy where appropriate or support to access independent advocacy.
4.
To assess the needs of Young Carers and establish the support required from the Young Carers Project.
5.
To assist in the development and delivery of age appropriate activities for Young Carers and Young Adult Carers including evening work & occasional residential breaks.
6.
To prepare and distribute information:
a)
for Young Carers and Young Adult Carers
b)
about Young Carers and Young Adult Carers issues
8.
To raise awareness about the needs of Young Carers and Young Adult Carers within the statutory, private and voluntary sector. Establish and maintain links with relevant professionals in health, social work, education and third sector
9.
To encourage and enable Young Carers and Young Adult Carers to constructively voice their needs and advocate where necessary.
10.
To attend regular Carers Centre staff meetings, Young Carers staff meetings and supervision.
11.
To attend training sessions where appropriate and adhere to Health & Safely, Child Protection and Adult Support & Protection requirements.
12.
Any other duties deemed necessary by the Young Carers Manager and the Board of Trustees.
13.
To establish and maintain links with relevant professionals in health, social work, education and third sector.
14.
To participate in promotional activities relating to the work of the organisation including giving presentations.
15.
To collect statistical and other relevant information, including on unmet need, required for monitoring and reporting purposes and produce reports/information as required.
16.
To assist Young Carers to develop a Young Carers Statement.
17.
To assist Young Adult Carers to develop an Adult Carers Support Plan using an outcome focused approach
18.
Identify and support Young Adult Carers to access and participate in mainstream services
19.
Complete Young Carers and Young Adult Carers case notes and ensure accurate records are maintained on the Centres Database.
