ARC Hounslow is committed to supporting young people who experience difficulties in relation to their substance use. This role is to work as a member of HYPE - the Young People (YP) service within the Borough, including networking and attending relevant meetings/events.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and energetic recovery practitioner to join our team, working with young people who present with substance use issues and the challenges these might pose. The service sits within the wider ARC Hounslow core addictions service. The applicant will be based across schools, early help hubs and other community settings where young people are and work alongside a variety of teams and services supporting young people with drug and alcohol issues.
The role of the young people's Recovery Practitioner is to engage young people in 1:1 support, advice and information relating to substance use with a view to supporting an improvement in their overall lifestyle, supporting positive health outcomes.
They will deliver educational awareness in young person settings; i.e. schools, colleges, through workshops, assemblies, etc.
They will deliver bespoke training for those in contact with young people i.e. teachers, foster carers, parents, social care, etc.
They will oversee, work effectively and in partnership with all relevant key partners within the Borough. This includes networking and establishing links where appropriate.

The Addictions Directorate with CNWL Foundation Trust is a large, well-established provider which offers a wide range of specialist NHS drug and alcohol treatment interventions to the diverse and multicultural populations in Central and North West London. Our Drug and Alcohol services include 7 community services, 1 in-patient service. We also run a National Gambling Service and a Club Drug Clinic.
Our substance use services are dedicated to helping reduce the harm caused by substance misuse dependency; helping people overcome their dependency on substances and helping clients and their families rebuild their lives and enable recovery. We are committed to working in partnership with other providers and service users in local systems of treatment and recovery.
