Job Description

Youth Inspired requires a Young Persons Recovery Practitioner to join our wee dynamic, ever growing team.

As the Youth Inspired Young Person's Recovery & Development Practitioner, you will be responsible, along with the Service Lead, for the delivery and development of The Young Person's Recovery Service. You will work collaboratively with our Young Persons Psychotherapist and Counsellor to deliver One to One's and Recovery Groupwork.

You will be based at the Y.I. Hub in Linwood Renfrewshire but will travel as and where required in order to work with stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity to become involved in an innovative service that has been growing steadily for the past few years.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:



You will (because you can)



Work in partnership with our Service Manager & Service Lead to create a deliver a Young Person's Recovery Programme

Work collaboratively with our Young Persons Psychotherapist & Counsellor

Contribute to the structure of the programme

Deliver One to One's with young people and assist them in managing their own person-centred recovery plan to create life manageability and ensure wellbeing

Deliver groupwork

Continually monitor and assess the progress of the young person and liaise with the Programme Director on this

Advocate on the behalf of the young person when required

Represent Youth Interventions at both a local and national level demonstrating our commitment to this service

Facilitate groupwork sessions

Deliver Prevention and Education workshops within community settings, contributing to the design of said workshops

Support your clients across the many domains of their lives demonstrating clear boundaries that are coupled with empathy and the fundamental belief that young people can make positive changes in their lives

Be motivated and keen to develop both your practice and this role.

Be person centred and ensure that empowerment is at the heart of everything that you do.

Be able to demonstrate that you can work autonomously but also as part of a team

Essential Requirements (don't worry about the technical speak!)



Be able to work with young people, PVG Have experience working with in a substance misuse service/setting or with clients who are impacted by substance misuse An acceptance of different models of recovery Be computer proficient in order to manage care plans and other documents and adhere to all data protection. Be familiar and proficient with Word & Powerpoint Have a good understanding of mental health issues and really enjoy supporting others to achieve independence and lead their own recovery Be caring, consistent, flexible and creative, work well under pressure, know how to connect with people at all levels and, like us, you'll be keen to break down the stigma of mental health and drug and alcohol misuse.

Desirable Requirements:



Have an SVQ3 in social care or equivalent (HNC etc) and be able to demonstrate evidence of training on mental health and/or counselling skills/substance misuse Experience of groupwork delivery and facilitation Experience of speaking at stakeholder meetings and/or multi-agency working, and be able to work in partnership with other agencies within the treatment system to achieve good outcomes for clients. Have a good understanding of the recovery landscape in Scotland and in particular the Scottish Government's current Rights Respect and Recovery Strategy 2018 An understanding of ACE's and trauma and the impact that this can have on the developing child/adolescent and the links with substance misuse and other maladaptive behaviours Have an awareness of the factors that can put additional stress on a person's mental health including feelings of social isolation, financial worries and housing issues Have experience of working with clients to produce strength-based support plans and positive risk management Have experience of working with a diverse range of client groups Have knowledge of safeguarding for adults, children and young people Be able to prioritise own time / workload
