About the Role:

As a member of the Youth Engagement Team under direction from the Operations Manager you will be required to engage with Working Wales, referral partners, young people, guardians and employers to recruit learners, source appropriate work placements, review, mentor and give employability support to 16-19 year olds who are assessed as NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) to make the most of their potential

Key Responsibilities



Working under the supervision of the Operations Manager meet recruitment targets to maintain caseload levels by liaising with Careers Wales, Working Wales Job Centres, and other referral support agencies in order to promote COPA's services Complete learner initial assessments and enrol onto the programme. Support by the Operations Manager build up a rapport with local employers to source high quality work placements with the flexibility in the attendance to meet the needs of the learner. Ensure work placements have the potential for sustained employment Carry out Health & Safety vetting and monitoring of work placements and be aware of issues surrounding Health and Safety/Safeguarding/prevent the work placement environment. Liaise as appropriate with parents/carers. Identify learners who are at high risk of disengaging and implement strategies to prevent this from happening. Carry out meaningful interviews and reviews with learners to measure progress and identify actions and training needs. Develop a bank of support agencies able to deliver interventions to assist learners with additional learning needs. Work closely with the Youth Engagement Team Tutors to ensure joint approach to the training, development and employability of learners maximising starts, progressions and qualification achievement and ensuring progression opportunities for learners are identified and met To ensure learners are adequately prepared and given the opportunity to progress onto higher level programmes and employment within a timely manner by liaising effectively with all other teams Monitor attendance of learners in work placement and assist in the collection of timesheets using in-house systems to monitor and maintain attendance levels. Provide coaching and mentoring support to learners. Ensure positive progressions for learners leaving COPA. Carry out any related administrative duties required enabling the smooth running of the Youth Engagement Programmes liaising with all routes and Audit & Compliance department. Be fully aware of the company Health & Safety policy and procedures to ensure that the physical environment of the learner during indoor and outdoor sessions is safe and appropriate. Be fully aware of the company safeguarding policy and procedures to ensure the wellbeing of the learners. Communicating with parents/guardians regarding issues that require attention To adhere to and promote COPA's environmental practices. Any other duties as requested by your Operations Manager, which may be necessary from time to time.

Undertake any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Managing Director and commensurate with the level of the post. Qualifications and Skills: Essential



Minimum of 2 years' experience of working with NEET learners Competency with regard for Safeguarding Good level of Literacy and Numeracy Grade C or equivalent Teaching qualification Creative and passionate for training/learning Ability to develop others Proven track record of meeting targets The ability to identify potential barriers to learning and to plan strategies to overcome these barriers Good communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and spoken English Self-motivated and well organised Excellent IT skills with programmes such as Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and SharePoint Willingness and ability to be flexible and go above and beyond as and when needed Team player with ability to work on own initiative and meet set timescales Effective Customer Care Skills Willingness to undertake personal & professional development in relation to your role and business needs To uphold COPA's Core Values Hold a full U.K. driving licence and has access to vehicle
