Everton in the Community stands firmly beside the most at-risk and most in need members of its local communities, but the needs of the city are ever-growing and ever-evolving.




About the opportunity:

Everton in the Community is seeking to appoint a Youth Interventions Worker to Support the Senior Co-ordinator to deliver interventions appropriate to individual needs and identified risk, protective factors, both during referral and throughout their time on the programme.


As Youth Interventions Worker you will be responsible for managing a caseload of young people, devising a support plan tailored to the individual's needs. You will provide 1-1 mentoring, targeted workshops and a range of activities that support four primary areas: Physical, Social, Emotional, and Educational.


You will collaborate holistically with families and relevant partners, assessing their needs, providing necessary support, and empowering them to overcome the challenges they face.


Other key responsibilities will include:




Support the Senior Co-ordinator to ensure that young people are recruited onto the programme Complete and translate initial risk assessments into effective and innovative support plans with robust monitoring and evaluation systems in place Produce qualitative case studies on individuals for both internal and external stakeholders, receiving consent from the individual's parent/guardian To work collaboratively with colleagues across the Youth Inclusion team to provide participants with a wider range of opportunities and support To promote and encourage self-confidence, esteem and empowerment with young people attending the programme Facilitate group work which enables young people to work constructively with others and achievement of goals Facilitate 1:1 mentoring and small targeted group work that enables young people to achieve their goals Work with the individuals to explore the effect of inappropriate behaviour and attitudes on others, with a view to building more positive community relationships and challenging negative social stereotypes

To understand the Club's Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines. To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to an Anti-bullying environment.





Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an individual who has experience of working with young people who display challenging behaviour and have or are at risk of being criminally exploited.


Our successful candidate will also demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience:


VRQ/NVQ Level 2 in Youth Work or other relevant qualification/experience in youth or community work BA Honours Degree in a relevant subject area (or equivalent) Relevant Mentoring qualifications Experience of working within a Youth Work setting Experience of working alongside organisations. within the industry Manage a caseload of young people aged 8-19 years Solid experience of 1-to-1 support work with young people; to include assessment, intervention planning and deliver of action plans Ability to stay calm and make decisions in pressurised situations Ability to work with and handle young people who show challenging behaviour A good understanding of confidentiality and maintaining boundaries when working with young people Ability to work as part of a team and pro-actively as an individual

This position will be offered on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract, 35 hours per week with the role being based across EitC Campus, Indoor/Outdoor Venues, Schools, Home Visits
