Job Introduction
We have a great opportunity to join our Youth Justice and Support Service in a key role to help safeguard and support children who are involved in offending, as well as their parents, carers and others affected by their behaviour.
As a Youth Offending Team Officer, you'll work directly with young people and their families to help achieve better outcomes and keep communities safer.
Our service has a focus on areas that directly impact on young people's lives and the wider community. We're recognised for proactively working with young people to prevent exclusions from schools and for intervening at the earliest opportunity with young people involved in knife crime through our PRRE and ACT: Now projects. We work collaboratively with children's social care, health and police partners amongst others.
You'll be pivotal in building strong and trusting relationships with young people and their families whilst working to support families to address complex needs and risks. The work is challenging and demanding and includes working with young people who are assessed as high safety concerns to others and themselves.
You'll ideally have a qualification in Youth Justice or relevant field and/or at least two years' experience working with adolescents in a relevant field (Health, Education, Criminal Justice, Social Care, Police).
