About the Role



We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Youth Support Worker experienced in supporting young people with mental health and emotional needs, to join our team in Lancashire. In this role, you will provide high-quality care and support to individuals, helping them maintain independence, dignity, and a better quality of life.

?Key Responsibilities



Provide emotional and practical support to young people experiencing mental health challenges. Build trusting, professional relationships that encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and independence. Support young people in daily living tasks, including personal care (where required), routines, and social activities. Monitor, record, and report changes in behaviour, mood, or risk factors in line with safeguarding procedures. Manage challenging behaviour using approved de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approaches. Implement care plans and risk assessmentstailored to each young person's mental health needs. Encourage engagement in education, therapy, and community activities to support personal development. Promote a safe and therapeutic environment in residential or supported-living settings. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, social workers, therapists, and families. Support crisis interventions calmly and professionally, following organisational policies. Maintain accurate, confidential case records and documentation for reporting and compliance. Promote safeguarding and child protection at all times, ensuring the well-being of each young person.

Requirements



?Previous experience in a care or support role (preferred, but not essential - training can be provided). A caring, patient, and empathetic nature. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.?
