You must be flexible, confident working with diverse groups of young people, and comfortable travelling between local sites and community spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities for All Roles:
Build strong, professional, and trusting relationships with young people across Dagenham and nearby communities.
Plan, deliver, and evaluate a wide range of engaging youth programs, workshops, and outreach activities.
Provide support and guidance around key issues such as mental health, education, employment, and personal development.
Travel to different settings including youth centres, schools, parks, and local events.
Work in collaboration with families, schools, local authorities, and partner organisations.
Uphold safeguarding standards and contribute to a safe and inclusive environment for all young people.
Keep accurate records, incident reports, and risk assessments.
Graduate Youth Worker (Entry-Level): 24k-25k PA Depending on experience
Support senior staff in sessions, projects, and administration.
Gain hands-on experience and learn through shadowing and supervised delivery.
Participate in training and development activities.
Youth Worker (Mid-Level): 27k-28k PA Depending on experience
Independently lead youth sessions and small group work.
Coordinate specific youth projects or target groups (e.g., NEET prevention, youth voice, girls' empowerment).
Support graduate workers and volunteers.
Senior Youth Worker (Advanced-Level): 28k - 30k PA Depending on experience
Lead on project planning, delivery strategy, and team coordination.
Supervise junior staff and ensure quality assurance in program delivery.
Represent the service in external forums, panels, and partnership meetings.
Manage resources, budgets, and evaluation reports.
Person Specification:
Essential for All Roles:
A confident and approachable personality with the ability to engage young people from diverse backgrounds.
Commitment to supporting and empowering youth in a respectful and inclusive manner.
Willingness and ability to travel across Dagenham and surrounding boroughs.
Basic knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
