This client is one of the world\xe2\x80\x99s largest and most respected broadcasting organisations. One of (if not THE) flagship UK public service broadcaster, this client operates numerous TV channels, radio stations and digital platforms, catering to diverse audiences both in the UK and around the globe.

About the role:
Provides a specialist advisory service to our client\xe2\x80\x99s workforce which involves providing guidance, training, information and management of data; executes process delivery, often of a specialist nature. The role can work independently to resolve complex queries but will work in partnership as part of a wider specialist team to manage more complex issues and projects.

This role holder will lead investigations of allegations of serious misconduct received via our client\'s whistleblowing mechanisms in accordance with relevant internal policies, legal requirements and industry best practice standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides guidance, training and information, manages data and executes process delivery, often of a specialist nature
  • Advises the workforce based on information received and knowledge of policy and process; understands issues and problems and manages them accordingly
  • Works in partnership with wider specialist teams to manage and deliver more complex specialist projects and deliverables
  • Represents the team at meetings, providing mentoring and taking the lead on specific issues/topics/projects or incidents as required
  • Encourages the continuous improvement to specialism by engaging with and coaching employees and junior roles with SSR team
  • Keeps abreast of legal updates and undertakes CPD (Continous Personal Development) activities to maintain knowledge required for role or professional membership
  • Conduct of robust, legally and procedurally compliant, evidence-led internal investigations across our client\xe2\x80\x99s global operations
  • Reporting case outcomes clearly to senior stakeholders via professional and comprehensive case reports
  • Determining apposite recommendations for improvements to controls and working practices to minimise risk of recurrence, in consideration of investigation findings
  • Providing ad-hoc advice and support to colleagues and stakeholders regarding appropriate application of whistleblowing mechanisms and policy
  • Design and facilitation of relevant training and awareness raising initiatives for a wide range of audiences, including internationally
Skills:
  • Relevant specialist diploma or equivalent (i.e. NEBBOSH, IOSH) and professional institute membership (e.g. CIOSH, CIEH)
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, codes of practice, guidance and operating procedures across own discipline within SSR
  • Proven experience of personal involvement in the management of specialism within diverse organisation
  • Sufficient breadth of specialist knowledge in the specialist subject/discipline to advise on specialist subject, risk management and legalisation.
  • Ability to analyse or/and investigate and contextualise complex issues, identify key points to be addressed and develop effective, practical and simple plans to resolve problems
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to present clear and concise professional communications to a range of audiences within the company, and to external agencies as necessary
  • In-depth knowledge of UK protected disclosure legislation and experience of practical application in corporate setting.
  • Experienced in the handling, review and triage of complex and sensitive disclosures.
  • Skilled and experienced investigator, with strong grasp of criminal and civil investigation methodology and best practice standards in international/multi-jurisdictional context. Experienced in handling internal misconduct investigations, preferably in a media/broadcast setting or regulated sector
  • Able to independently and flexibly to manage multiple cases, prioritising actions and managing time effectively to work within set deadlines
  • Experienced in handling sensitive investigations and communications in diverse, multi-cultural, and international working context
  • Strong grasp of OSINT investigation tools and methodology
  • Able to produce robust investigation reports for executive level audience (including external regulatory or legislative bodies), clearly articulating case findings, conclusions, and recommendations for resolution (including measures to prevent risk of recurrence).
  • Skilled in investigative interviewing, including of witnesses and subjects of investigation at senior/Executive level.
  • Able to liaise and work collaboratively with senior stakeholders and external agencies (e.g. law enforcement).
  • Able to work flexibly and independently, with minimal supervision to manage multiple cases, prioritising case actions as necessary.
  • Strong grasp of IT to enable flexible and dynamic working in digital/multi-site working context.
