Aspira Education is hiring a 1-1 School Support Worker to work with a year 11 pupil as well as providing 1:1 and small-group support for children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and complex needs.
You don't need school experience - just resilience, empathy, and the ability to build trust.
About the Role
As a School Support Worker, you'll:
Support pupils who display challenging behaviour, helping them regulate emotions and stay engaged
Build strong relationships and offer consistent, calm guidance
Use trauma-informed, de-escalation, and positive reinforcement strategies
Work with teaching staff, SENCOs, and DSLs to create safe, structured routines
Help pupils re-engage with learning and develop confidence in themselves
Personal care maybe involved so the right candidate must be comfortable with this.
You'll work Monday to Friday during term time in a school setting.
What We're Looking For
We welcome candidates from all walks of life, including those with experience in:
Youth work, care work, coaching, or mentoring
Behavioural support, social care, or outreach roles
NHS residential support background
Supporting vulnerable young people in education or the community
You don't need a qualification - just the ability to stay calm under pressure and a belief in second chances.
All applicants must have:
The right to work in the UK
A clear Enhanced DBS (or be willing to apply)
Two recent references
A willingness to complete free online safeguarding training
Be able to start asap
