Kids R Us Pre-School are looking for individuals who are interested in working as a 1:1 SEN Practitioner at our Pre-school located at:
Trumpington Park Pre-School, Hobson Avenue, Trumpington, Cambridge, CB2 9EG
We are looking for a hardworking and passionate 1:1 SEN practitioner who are willing to work within our pre-school using our ethos, values, policies, framework and procedures. We'd like individuals who have lots of activity ideas for indoors and outdoors with children.
This role would entail working hours of:
Monday - Friday - 11:45am - 3:15pm
Total weekly hours - 17.5 hours (term time only)
Experience:
Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
Nursery/Preschool: 1 year (preferred)
1:1 experience: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
Early years or similar qualification, level 2 or 3 preferred but not essential.
ROLE
A Pre School Practitioner is a capable individual with responsibility for caring for children and maintaining a high-quality, stimulating learning environment. They are warm and responsive, working flexibly and effectively as part of a team assisting in the smooth running of the club.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children
2. To be aware of Kids R Us' policies and procedures and ensure these are adhered to
3. To share responsibility for the welfare of all children, following the systems and protocols, ensuring consistent high-quality care
4. To be vigilant and protect children from harm or abuse, reporting any concerns immediately - in accordance with current Safeguarding and Child Protection laws and policies
5. To be reliable and punctual, maintaining staffing ratios at all times.
6. To develop genuine bonds with the children and support colleagues to sensitively fulfil their responsibilities
7. To reflect on activities and daily routines, tailoring them to meet the individual needs of each child
8. To contribute to planning and the provision of a stimulating range of age-appropriate activities and ensuring that the setting is well-resourced and creatively setup
9. To contribute to observations of children's learning and development ensuring records are kept up to date, are of a high standard and uploaded onto the children's Learning Journal
11. To be professional and a good role model to the children and other staff members, at all times.
12. To work flexibly as part of the larger team, assisting and supporting colleagues wherever required, in order to ensure the smooth running
13. To communicate effectively, sharing information and participating in meetings when required
16. To respect and value all colleagues, children and parents, encouraging a positive and diverse working environment
17. To cooperate and work effectively with the Manager, taking on additional responsibilities/duties where required
