We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with an EHCP and high emotional needs. This role involves working closely with a pupil of various needs, including autism, to promote their educational and social development. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children. Duties
Assist teachers in delivering tailored educational programmes to children with diverse needs, including special education and autism support
Support behavioural, social, and emotional development through personalised engagement
Provide one-on-one assistance to children requiring additional help, including toddlers and those with disabilities
Help organise classroom activities, materials, and resources to ensure a smooth learning experience
Foster positive interactions among pupils to promote inclusivity and respect
Monitor children during lessons, breaks, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and well-being
Communicate effectively with children, teachers, parents, and other staff to support individualised learning plans
Support children with daily routines such as meal times, toileting, and transitions between activities
Experience
Prior experience working with children is highly desirable
Experience supporting children with autism or special educational needs is advantageous
Familiarity with toddler care or working with young children in an educational setting is preferred
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or behavioural challenges will be considered a plus
