Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1-2-1 Nursery SEN practitioner to provide specialised support within a nursery setting. This role involves working closely with children who have special educational needs, ensuring they receive personalised care and developmental support. The ideal candidate will have experience in childcare and early childhood education. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children's lives while working within a supportive team environment.

Duties

Deliver personalised support programmes tailored to each child's individual needs, promoting their social, emotional, and developmental growth Assist children with daily activities, including play, learning tasks, and behavioural management Collaborate with nursery staff, parents, and external professionals to develop and implement care plans Maintain accurate records of children's progress and any concerns that arise during sessions Support children in developing communication skills through engaging activities and interactions Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at all times by adhering to safeguarding policies Facilitate effective communication with children using appropriate strategies and tools Manage daily routines efficiently, including organising activities that foster independence and confidence

Requirements

Proven experience working with children in a nursery or childcare environment, preferably with SEN children Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare best practices Ability to build trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues Compassionate approach with patience, understanding, and organisational skills Commitment to safeguarding policies and promoting inclusive practices within the nursery setting
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 12.35-12.85 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
