The role
Manchester City Football Club is seeking a passionate and skilled 1st Team Osteopath / Physiotherapist to join our elite Medical Department. Reporting to the Head of Physiotherapy, this role is central to delivering world-class clinical care that supports player health, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance.
You'll work closely with the multidisciplinary team to implement evidence-based osteopathy/physiotherapy practice and contribute to the continued development of medical protocols. This is a hands-on role supporting daily treatments, injury management, and matchday emergency care within a high-performance environment.

Your Impact * Deliver high-quality clinical care through daily pre- and post-training treatments and bespoke injury prevention programmes

  • Integrate evidence-based osteopathic assessment and treatment into the team's rehabilitation and performance workflows
  • Support the development and delivery of best practice medical care across the 1st Team environment
  • Collaborate effectively with the Head of Physiotherapy and wider multidisciplinary team to optimise player health and performance
  • Maintain accurate and professional documentation, records, and statistical data
  • Assist in the creation and refinement of evidence-based clinical protocols using the latest research and specialist input
  • Provide emergency aid support at training and matches, maintaining all required accreditations (e.g. ATMIFF)
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation of the department's medical standards
What we are looking for
Essential
Knowledge
  • Specialist knowledge in the treatment of sports injuries
  • Strong understanding of injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance integration
  • Familiarity with multi-disciplinary approaches in elite sport

Experience
  • Previous experience working in an elite sporting environment
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
Qualifications
  • Degree in Osteopathy or Physiotherapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Appropriate professional membership(s) (e.g. CSP, GOsC)
  • Accredited to provide emergency aid (e.g. ATMIFF - or willing to complete)
Technical/Work-Based Skills
  • Capable of delivering personalised injury prevention plans informed by screening and medical history
  • Skilled in integrating osteopathic principles into wider performance processes
  • Proficient in maintaining accurate, high-standard clinical documentation
Desirable
Knowledge
  • Understanding of musculoskeletal imaging, data interpretation, and current sports medicine literature
  • Familiarity with safeguarding practices and standards in professional sport
General Skills and Attributes
  • Confidence using sports data platforms for efficient data storage and review
Experience
  • Prior experience working within professional football
  • Experience using data management systems to support clinical operations
Qualifications
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g. Sports Medicine, Manual Therapy)
  • Safeguarding Level 3 certification (or willingness to undertake)
