The Graduate Consultant role sits within the Sustainable Design element of Savills Earth. With over 100 energy and sustainability consultants operating across a UK network, Savills Earth is quickly developing into the largest zero carbon department in any mainstream real estate practice with a reputation for success and professionalism. Savills Earth brings expertise in how to efficiently and responsibly use, procure, and generate the energy required to power properties, helping to achieve net zero emissions, whilst managing material and ecological impacts. Working throughout the property lifecycle, the team is able to test and prove viability and impacts for clients, helping to create a sustainable vision for their projects then enabling and delivering that vision through planning, design, and implementation.
In Sustainable Design we deliver design advice for new developments, from passive measures, through to energy strategies, smart buildings and renewable technologies; and create strategic pathways for existing buildings, portfolios and masterplans to achieve net zero, embracing social value, wellbeing and climate resilience. The built environment is responsible for around 40% of the emissions that the UK is looking to eradicate by 2050. How we build, maintain and operate our buildings is changing in response to the challenge of reaching net zero. Our team provide the holistic design response across all areas of building energy and sustainability that is required to meet this challenge.
As a graduate within Sustainable Design you will gain experience across a wider variety of different service lines and skills, working alongside engineers, architects and environmental scientists to develop implementable solutions to the climate emergency. Your role will encompass various tasks related to energy modelling, embodied carbon assessment, and compliance with building and environmental legislation. You will actively contribute to projects, engage in client meetings, and support the team in delivering presentations and workshops.
