Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in computer-aided design and engineering principles, with the ability to create detailed schematics and designs for various projects. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving skills to support the development of innovative solutions.

Duties

Develop and produce detailed CAD drawings and schematics using software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand design requirements and specifications. Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues in designs and propose effective solutions. Utilise Simulink and MATLAB for system design and simulation purposes. Integrate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) into designs as required. Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure accuracy in designs. Maintain comprehensive documentation of design processes, changes, and project updates. Assist in the testing and validation of designs using LabVIEW for data acquisition and analysis. Provide mechanical knowledge to support the development of functional prototypes.

Requirements

Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Strong understanding of mechanical principles and system design methodologies. Experience with root cause analysis techniques and problem-solving strategies. Familiarity with Simulink, MATLAB, PLCs, GD&T, schematics, LabVIEW, and other relevant tools is highly desirable. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within a team environment. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
