About the role:
We're looking for our first ever 3PL Logistics Contract Manager - a pivotal new hire who will shape the commercial and operational foundations of Ocado's third-party logistics partnerships. As Ocado continues its exciting growth journey, outsourced logistics will play a critical role in enabling scalable and cost-effective delivery. This is your opportunity to build and lead the long-term 3PL strategy that supports that journey.
You'll manage over 50 million in annual logistics spend, leading all aspects of 3PL contract management -from strategy and performance to commercial governance and continuous improvement. It's a unique opportunity to influence real transformation, align with cross-functional stakeholders, and leave a legacy as the founding hire in a critical, high-impact role.
Due to the nature of this role, a full driving licence is essential -you'll need to travel to partner and network locations when required.
You will be - Skills and responsibilities:
Leading the commercial and contractual management of Ocado's 3PL warehousing and transport partnerships.
Using your logistics and negotiation expertise to deliver cost efficiencies, ensure compliance, and drive service excellence.
Acting as the key point of contact across Finance, Legal, and Supply Chain to ensure full commercial alignment.
Supporting performance reviews, continuous improvement efforts, and future 3PL onboarding activity.
Bringing structure and visibility to open-book models, validating cost inputs and creating a new benchmark for commercial rigour.
To be successful as a 3PL Logistics Contract Manager, you'll bring:
Proven experience managing warehousing and/or transport logistics contracts (ideally with 3PL providers).
Strong commercial acumen with hands-on knowledge of open-book and closed-book cost models.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills -you can translate complex commercial data into clear business outcomes.
Strong financial literacy with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and cost modelling.
A strategic mindset -someone who sees both operational detail and the big picture.
A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel between sites and supplier locations when needed.
