The Role

This role is responsible for Project Management of the technical changes including planning, leading and organising systems delivery teams and 3rd party teams , and will have significant experience in implementing multiple workstreams, across several teams and projects. Reporting to the Programme Manager, the role encompasses both an agile delivery approach as well as a more traditional delivery methodology and sometimes a combination of both, to delivery system implementations across the programme.

The Technology PM role has advanced skills in lean and agile and will ensure that there is an unrelenting focus on delivering value to support of Pret\'s objectives and will act as an immediate escalation point to unblock issues and impediments. They will deliver business outcomes to time and quality and actively manage ongoing risk and mitigation.

The role will act as a PM, taking responsibility for the delivery of the outcomes with greater control of activity.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-Day activities to manage, plan, document and track the progress of assigned projects, from conception to completion, identifying project deliverables and monitoring progress
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the project team.
  • Alongside the Programme Manager, Workstream Leads and Analysts, agree the right delivery methodology for each implementation
  • Build and manage the project plan
  • Facilitate business analysis sessions. Assist with documentation.
  • Ensure robust testing plans, Go / No-Go sign-off, successful go live of systems and all integrations, as well as conduct lessons learned reviews.
  • Manage project risks and issues management including the mitigation strategies
  • Quickly surface and resolve challenges and remove impediments or constraints to the project team\'s progress.
  • Interface with stakeholders and engage key team leads across Pret to agree implementation plans
  • Build strong relationships with all project stakeholders and constantly coordinate with them
  • Ensure appropriate project governance and maintain related artefact
  • Lead self-organising teams to create, test, iterate, and run high-value products
  • Ensure a regular and effective project cadence is agreed and established with efficient and effective ceremonies. (leveraging Atlassian Jira and Confluence/Microsoft Teams)
  • Inspire and motivate teams to focus on value creation, ruthless efficiency or maximising investment in support of our business goals and strategy.
  • Actively collaborate across a complex delivery landscape for shared success and customer value.
  • Develop and builds strong delivery teams and thriving communities.
  • Lead and share good practice in agile and lean techniques and coach\'s others at Pret in their adoption
Skills and Experience
  • Extensive practical experience as an Agile Delivery Lead
  • Good experience of more traditional project delivery methodologies as a project manager
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful technical projects, and/or products.
  • Strong experience in people management on projects, aligning people around clear goals and balancing skills and personalities to achieve a great outcome.
  • Demonstrable Experience in helping teams deliver innovative solutions for high value Business opportunities.
  • A good understanding of commercial IT, User Experience Design, Service design and how best to optimise these tools and techniques to create an optimised customer experience
  • Able to foster constructive dialogue across organisational boundaries. Has a toolkit of methods and techniques, that can be used to collaboratively discuss and resolve issues.
  • Excellent judgment in identifying potential risks and opportunities and known for positive disruption challenging the status quo to drive successful outcomes.
  • Passionate about building, motivating, empowering and coaching team new ways of working, and spearheading their adoption.
  • Fluency with Atlassian project management platform, including Jira and Confluence, as well as Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent facilitation skills that enable conversations and workshops which agree outcomes that support our Business Goals.
  • Ability to thrive in a challenging dynamic environment, and adept at managing ambiguity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the confidence to handle both complex and sensitive stakeholders.
  • Understands the concept of risk adjusted return on capital and how Pret governs and evaluates its investments.
  • Preferably experience working on retail/ transactional projects.
