Job Description

This super nursery in Uckfield is looking for a qualified candidate to lead the 9 month to 2-year-old room.

The salary is 27,000 to 29,000 a year, depending on experience, and you'll receive a tax-free lump sum of 1,000 after 6 months (subject to qualifying). We also pay into your pension.

You'll need a Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent. We'll help you learn our routines and to incorporate your planning ideas into our planning cycle. The parents are super-supportive of our educational approach and the Manager is experienced, floor-based and inclusive.

We'd like you to work 40 hours a week. You'll receive 28 days holiday a year and we close over Christmas. There is free car parking close by and we're on the main bus routes.

Responsibilities

To lead the under 2s room.

To get to know the children and their families. (You'll develop a strong bond with children and parents and become an important part of their family life.)

To help the children learn new skills and independence.

To plan the children's activities. Our paperwork is kept to a minimum so you can spend time with the children.

Candidate requirements

Level 3 Childcare qualification or equivalent.

Good knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

You'll need to be articulate and confident. You'll be a Key Person capable of developing a partnership with parents.

Forest School qualifications would be beneficial as would an interest in Montessori.

27,000 to 29,000 pa.

28 days annual leave plus an additional day for your birthday.

We pay a percentage of your salary into your pension.
