Job Summary

Are you an experienced Abnormal Loads Escort Driver looking for a new role? Join us at Hanson European Caravan Transport Ltd (based in Beverley, East Yorkshire) as an Escort Driver, where you'll be responsible for assisting with the escorting movements and deliveries of abnormal load static caravans.
The role is Monday - Friday driving nationwide, usually away for 4 nights per week.

We were acquired by Parkdean Resorts in early 2022 and although Hanson European Caravan Transport Ltd is now part of the Parkdean family, we continue to operate independently, serving clients and many holiday parks across the UK. We are based in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Duties

DRIVING

Escorting abnormal load static caravans along the approved route acting as a warning to other road users and pedestrians

Familiarising yourself with the approved route and prepping for the journey

Following routes as set out in the ESDAL document and seeking advice regarding the route if necessary

Assessing potential unsuitable areas such as roadworks ahead of the HGV driver to ensure a safe, suitable route

Ensuring any restrictions such as cautions applying to bridges, tunnels, or level crossings either for the escort vehicle, or the vehicle carrying the abnormal load are adhered to

Assessing sites and delivery locations ahead of the HGV driver to ensure safe, suitable access

Effective communication with Planners, Transport Office, and HGV Drivers/Support Drivers via telephone or CB radio

Effective communication with other drivers where necessary to share relevant, accurate information.

Effective customer service with customers and caravan parks

Polite communication with members of the public ensuring they understand potential hazards of the wide load

LOADING & UNLOADING

Ensure that Company standard PPE is worn at all times when loading and unloading

Assisting the HGV Driver in the loading and unloading of static caravans onto or from the HGV trailer

Assisting with the packing down caravans ensuring that they are prepped for transit in line with company issued prep sheets

Assisting with making sure the load is safely secured to the HGV trailer

MAINTENANCE

Ensure all equipment is in order to carry out daily tasks and this is checked prior to leaving the yard

Keeping vehicles clean and tidy at all times

Carrying out daily walk round safety checks and complete driver level repairs as necessary

Report all damage to the transport office Report defects to the transport office in a timely manner Keep the vehicle park clean and tidy and free from rubbish

Pay: 31,500 per annum plus additional night out payment.
Weekly pay.
