Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pilot car driver for abnormal loads to join our team. The candidate will ideally possess a strong understanding and knowledge of escorting abnormal loads throughout the UK road network, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. As a Pilot car driver, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transport of HGV vehicles, while adhering to all regulatory requirements and company policies.

Ideally you will have experience and knowledge of the static caravan industry in the UK.

Duties

Operate vehicle in accordance with established safety protocols and regulations. Conduct daily defect inspections to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition. Communicate effectively with clients and other team members, both on the road and in the office during operational shifts. Effective planning of routes in conjunction with the Esdal notification. Report promptly to management any operational or technical issues. Ensure that the vehicle is properly maintained and equipped at all times. Collaborate and assist HGV drivers with efficient loading and unloading.

Requirements

Valid licence. Mechanical knowledge advantageous but not essential. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in critical situations. Previous experience as a Pilot car escort driver is advantageous, particularly for understanding abnormal load transportation and the legislation associated with it. Working away from base Monday to Friday (4 nights) - Paid tax free allowance

Excelling within this role will provide opportunities for self progression within the company via our in-house HGV Driver Training school. We have already implemented numerous cases of progression to funded Class 1 and 2 HGV licences.

Pay: 550.00-700.00 per week
