We are seeking a dedicated and highly organised Academic Administrator to join our Higher Education Team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality administrative support across the student lifecycle, academic quality assurance, and faculty operations. This position is integral to the effective delivery of our academic programmes, student services, and ensuring institutional compliance with both internal and external requirements. Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate student and course records using systems.
Manage the admissions process from enquiry to enrollment for Higher Education students
Support course and unit setup, modification, and closure processes.
Coordinate assessment and graduation logistics, including exam scheduling and ceremony preparation.
Provide front-line support to students and staff, resolving queries and escalating where necessary.
Act as secretary to academic committees, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and action tracking.
Assist with the management of external examiner processes.
Liaise with university partners and ensure compliance across full time courses
Manage the annual due diligence process across full-time courses.
Contribute to the production and validation of statutory returns.
Support the induction and onboarding of academic staff and hourly-paid lecturers.
Liaise with internal departments to ensure smooth course operations.
Participate in institution-wide events such as registration and graduation.
Co-ordinating student work submissions and feedback
Annual review of academic policies
Person Specification
Essential:
Experience in administrative roles within higher education or similar complex environments.
Strong IT skills, including MS Office and student records systems.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to high academic standards and integrity.
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Understanding of academic regulations and quality assurance processes.
Willingness to undertake and enhanced DBS check.
Desirable:
Experience with HE student record systems.
Committee servicing and minute-taking experience.
Familiarity with external reporting requirements and report writing.
Knowledge of safeguarding and data protection principles.
