Central Saint Michael's Sixth Form College is seeking three enthusiastic and committed Academic Coaches to join our team on a full-time, term-time only contract, until the end of the academic year.

Key Responsibilities
This role centres on delivering tailored academic coaching for individuals and small groups, supporting learners to make strong progress and engage with stretch and challenge beyond minimum expectations. A key focus is on identifying and re-engaging students at risk of underachievement or inconsistent attendance through targeted mentoring that builds motivation and confidence. Collaboration with subject staff is essential, co-designing strategies that reinforce classroom learning and provide consistent academic support.
The post also involves guiding students in preparing for assessments, exams, and coursework by leading workshops, revision sessions, and one-to-one support. Progress and impact will be carefully monitored through accurate record-keeping, ensuring every learner's development is tracked and recognised.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a strong track record of supporting learners, staff, or clients to achieve positive outcomes, combined with a clear understanding of the diverse needs students face in an FE setting. You will have experience of delivering literacy and numeracy support in the classroom, embedding and contextualising these skills to enhance engagement and progress. An understanding of how assessment informs effective support programmes is key, along with the ability to design and evaluate learning materials that are both practical and motivating. Just as importantly, you will bring the sensitivity and commitment needed to provide high-quality personal care, working collaboratively as part of a team while also showing initiative when working independently.
