Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Department of Experimental Psychology's professional support team helping to provide an integrated and high-quality professional service to staff and students across the Department.

The post is permanent, part-time working 20 hours per week, ideally over five days a week (Mon-Fri) with flexibility. The role is based within the Life and Mind Building, with the flexibility to work from home for up to 40% of the time once established in post.

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated professional to work with the Senior Academic Administrator and other members of the Academic Office to provide administrative support for the Department's teaching and examination procedures. You will have responsibility for a range of processes and be an integral part of a successful administrative team, playing an important role in the smooth running of the academic function of the department.

The Department of Experimental Psychology is a large, internationally recognised department with a high volume of academic activity and a fast-paced, research-driven culture. The department has recently moved to its new home in the Life and Mind Building. This exciting development provides exceptional research and teaching facilities along with space for public engagement and outreach. It also offers renewed commitment to work across disciplinary boundaries to further knowledge across the psychological and biological sciences and to solve major global challenges.

About you


You will have experience of working in an administrative position with good IT skills and excellent attention to detail. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently yet collaboratively to be able to respond flexibly to the demands of the post are also required. Previous experience in an HE institution would be an advantage as would some experience of systems such as Canvas and e-vision.
