Location:

Willerby Grove (with potential travel across college sites)

Contract:

Full-time (37 hours/week, some evenings/weekends)

East Durham College is seeking an ambitious and driven

Academy Head Coach

to lead our sport academies across multiple disciplines. This is an exciting opportunity to combine your coaching expertise with leadership, development, and partnership-building responsibilities in a thriving educational setting.


Key Responsibilities:



Lead, manage and grow the college's sport academies across all disciplines. Coordinate coaching programmes that support both athletic performance and academic success. Manage a team of academy coaches. Forge partnerships with sports clubs, schools, and community organisations. Promote student recruitment locally and regionally. Monitor and report on performance using tools such as GPS trackers and VEO cameras. Deliver cross-college enrichment and support student progression.

We're Looking For:



A minimum Level 3 Coaching Qualification. Experience in leadership, sports coaching, and working with young athletes. Knowledge of performance analysis tools and sports tracking software. Strong organisational and communication skills. A proactive and professional attitude with a genuine passion for sport. A full UK driving licence or access to transport is desirable.
