Purpose:





To take overall responsibility for the professional management and delivery of all kit and equipment requirements for the Academy, reporting directly into the Senior Kit Manager - First Team, Academy and Women's Team.



The Role:

Lead on match day operations, ensuring all kit and equipment requirements are delivered to the highest standard. Drive and manage the kit van for home and away fixtures, including overnight stays when required, to provide seamless support for the team. Focus on Academy kit operations, while providing flexible support across all men's and women's teams when needed. Accompany the team on tours, including the possibility of short overseas travel, to deliver consistent operational support. Prepare and provide kit and equipment daily for training sessions, matches, camps, and tours. Set up dressing rooms pre-match and clear down post-match, maintaining standards that reflect Manchester United's values and professionalism. Print and personalise match kit and training wear, ensuring accuracy and readiness ahead of fixtures. Support pre-season operations, managing the arrival, organisation, and preparation of kit to ensure timely availability for coaches and players. Assist the Senior Kit Manager (First Team, Academy, and Women's Team) and other kit leads with stock management, ordering, and logistics. Support the Kit and Logistics Operations Lead in coordinating staff rotas to maintain operational efficiency, flexibility, and responsiveness. Maintain a clean, organised, and professional working environment across all operating areas. Adhere to Manchester United's internal administrative processes and policies, including purchase order (PO) creation and compliance. Assist with laundry operations, ensuring kit is always prepared to professional standards.


The Person:

Proven experience in elite sports environments, ideally within football kit management, with the ability to lead and operate effectively under high-performance demands. Experience working with young people, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and the ability to build positive relationships. Strong work ethic and commitment, consistently delivering to the highest standards. Dependable and reliable, ensuring operational continuity and trust within the team. Trustworthy and discreet, respecting confidentiality at all times in line with club values. Engaged and enthusiastic team player, able to positively interact with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels across the club. Uphold and embody Manchester United's values, demonstrating professionalism and integrity in every aspect of the role. Positive and collaborative attitude, working seamlessly with fellow kit leads and wider operations staff. Highly flexible and adaptable, recognising the need for evening, weekend, and unsocial hours as part of the role. Physically capable of handling the role's demands, including daily lifting, carrying, and transporting of kit and equipment. Hold a full, clean driving licence, with experience driving transit-sized vehicles. DBS clearance (current or willingness to acquire) to support safeguarding standards within the Academy and wider club.
