About the Role
We're looking for an Account Director to join our team. Reporting into the Client Director, you'll play a key role shaping and driving the growth of our agency business plan and strategy, driving client growth and retention, and leading new business development. This is not a delivery role but one rooted in building strong client relationships, driving retention, and creating robust account development plans.

You're comfortable leading Creative, Content, Project and Production teams to bring ideas to life -- and you always keep the client's objectives front and centre.
You're solutions-focused and resilient, calmly navigating challenges while maintaining a positive, professional approach.
You have a genuine passion for the world of live events -- ideally with the majority of your experience across B2B (e.g. conferences, internal comms) and some B2C (e.g. brand activations and experiences).
You don't have to tick every box -- we care just as much about curiosity, adaptability and a growth mindset as we do experience on paper.
What You'll Be Doing
Client management & new business development
Strategic thinking around agency development and growth - inputting on the business plan for agency offering development and growth
Executing agency strategy - being able to take the plan and run with it
Proactive new business - developing strategically led plans and approaches that reflect the agency's business plan to secure new clients (i.e. sectors we've identified we want to target). To include pulling together compelling creds decks and getting out there, on the road, in front of potential clients and selling ourselves in
Strategic thinking for clients - taking a brief, interrogating it, asking the right questions, getting under the skin of it, working on the best strategy with the CD and Strategist, challenging clients, getting them to think differently, taking what keeps them up at night and solving it
Pitching - working with the strategist to develop robust responses to client briefs. Strategically well thought out. Being that central person that pulls everything together - the 'pitch doctor' that takes a holistic look at decks and pulls together the strategy, the creative, the locations, budgets, etc.
Leading pitch and proposal deck creation - you've been pulling decks together for years, you treat each individually (no copy and paste) - looking at best flow, approach, flawless - no typos, well-written English. It makes sense and is compelling.
Results orientated - for agency and clients - securing new clients, delivering on KPIs for clients
Sustainability - making sure we are helping to achieve our 2030 pledge, you'll be responsible for making sure we are true to our four pillars and being as sustainable as possible internally and for our clients
Working with the Client Director and Strategist on continued innovative thinking - what can we do differently? How can we stand out from the crowd?
Writing - outstanding written skills - clear, concise communication, but with a passion for selling the dream (and delivering on it) for clients. Writing for decks, emails, etc.
Oral presentation - confident oral presenter - must be able to dazzle and convince clients. You'll love pitching.
Commercially minded - always on the hunt, how can we bring in revenue, how can we unlock further revenue from existing clients, driving profit, sticking to budgets, reporting on profit margins. Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximise profits
Relationship development and management - a people person. Once clients are in the door, you know how to keep them. You'll develop robust keep-in-touch plans, as well as account development plans, to ensure we secrure repeat business and unlock new opportunities. You'll forge strong relationships built on trust and excellence. A trusted ear for both new and existing clients.
Recruitment - as we grow, we will build a team to support you
Research / staying on the pulse of industry trends, our target sectors - all with the ambition of spotting and unlocking new opportunities. Always alert to new opportunities, ear to the ground, etc.
Attending industry events to raise our and your profile, networking and building relationships
Team management
Leading internal teams as above.
Hiring a team and managing them, providing direction and professional development
Project delivery
Light touch senior oversight of campaigns and events to ensure they are on strategy
This is not a delivery role
Success Markers
Successful execution of the agency business plan
Winning new clients, who become repeat clients
Delivery of events with the Projects Team on strategy, brand and budget
