Job Description

Spurling Cannon is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Practice Bookkeeper to join our growing Small Business Division. This is a key role supporting a wide range of clients across various industries, with responsibilities that include VAT return preparation, bookkeeping, and mentoring junior team members.

JOB ROLE

VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and deadlines. Client Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for a diverse portfolio of clients. Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. Client Interaction: Liaise with clients to resolve queries and provide updates, ensuring a high standard of service. Training: Deliver software training and ongoing support to junior staff members. Review & Feedback: Review VAT returns prepared by colleagues and provide constructive feedback to support their development.

REQUIREMENTS

AAT qualified, studying, or qualified by experience Strong Xero or QuickBooks software experience Good knowledge of Excel Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure with limited supervision.
