Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making. This position requires proficiency in accounting software and a strong understanding of financial management principles.

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze financial ledgers statements and reports Manage accounts payable and receivable Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and regulations including annual statutory audit Prepare and submit VAT and tax returns Tax planning including for R&D related tax allowances and rebates Coordinate with UK customs for settlement and clearance of imported goods Design and implement financial controls Assist in the preparation and monitoring of financial forecasts and budgets Review and reconcile accounts for monthly and annual closing Ensure compliance with company statutory reporting requirements and filings Ensure payroll compliance with national insurance and personal income tax deductions Maintain business records and documents
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or professional accounting certification (such as ACCA) Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, must be competent in all aspects of accounts and taxation work. Big 4 experience or in-house work experience in an import/export trading company is beneficial. Familiarity with UK GAAP Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines Strong attention to detail Good communication and interpersonal skills
Skills

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel Preparation and maintenance of financial ledgers Experience with financial reporting and tax compliance Budgeting and financial analysis

Pay: 40,000.00-60,000.00 per year
